WEBSITE DESIGN ISN’T ONE-AND-DONE

Your website is a living, breathing thing.

It’s not just a digital business card where you can design it once and depend on it to do its job for years to come. The success of your website depends on proactive, regular maintenance.

But that’s easier said than done for most small businesses. You’re busy. You and your staff are overextended. And it’s totally normal for website updates to take a backseat to more pressing matters.

But ongoing maintenance is essential. Here's why:

  • Security: Regular updates help protect your site from vulnerabilities. Web technologies evolve quickly, and so do the threats. Without regular updates, your site becomes more vulnerable to malware, data breaches, or brute-force attacks. Even small, routine updates can patch security holes and help protect both your data and your customer’s.

  • Performance: Broken links, outdated contact forms, or slow load times may seem like minor annoyances, but they directly impact how people perceive your business. A site that is slow or glitchy signals neglect and can turn potential clients away. Regular performance checks and cleanup ensure your visitors have a smooth, frustration-free experience. It also impacts your SEO rankings.

  • SEO + Credibility: Whether it’s a new blog post, portfolio project, or service update, keeping content current builds credibility and improves discoverability. Both Google and your potential clients love fresh, functional websites that show you’re doing business. If your site isn’t updated regularly, you risk dropping in search rankings. Maintenance includes keeping your SEO tools and sitemap in shape, updating metadata, and making sure pages are loading correctly.

  • User Experience: Design trends shift, accessibility standards improve, and user expectations evolve. Maybe it's time to simplify a navigation menu, improve mobile responsiveness, or add a new call-to-action. Ongoing maintenance lets you make small tweaks that add up to a better user experience, and more business!

How RB Collaborative Supports You Post-Launch
We’re not the kind of design studio that disappears once the final invoice is paid. We give you the tools to manage your site, but we also offer backup when you need it.

Every client receives:

  • Comprehensive Off-Boarding: Every client receives a detailed off-boarding document with step-by-step instructions, tutorials, and helpful links.

  • Client Training: We walk you through how to update your site in-house so that you can feel confident managing day-to-day edits on your own.

  • Access That Doesn’t Expire: Your Google Drive folder — full of assets, files, and design materials — is never deleted, so you’ll always have access to the materials we created together.

After your site goes live, we offer two flexible options for ongoing support:

  1. 6-Month Retainer Plan: This is a popular option for clients who want peace of mind right after launch. You’ll pay a flat fee to keep us on standby for support, troubleshooting, or content updates, and any work we do during this time is billed at a discounted hourly rate.

  2. As-Needed Hourly Support: If you can cover regular maintenance on your own, but want to bring us in for a one-off update, no problem! You can hire us for new tasks or future needs at our standard hourly rate. This is a separate contract from your original web design project, and gives you the flexibility to call us in only when needed.

But first things first — you need a new website, and we’ve already got ideas. Let’s chat!
